Tree Pose
- The tree pose is a good asana to start with because it is not very difficult and allows you to focus on your breathing. During this time, the abdominal muscles, the lateral abdominal muscles, and the lower back muscles will be in good shape to maintain balance on one leg.
Start in a standing position and place your weight on your left leg. Bend your right knee and place your right foot on the inside of your left thigh. Find balance in this pose.
When you find balance, raise your arms and fold them in front of your chest in a namaste gesture. Focus your gaze on a point in front of you, this will help maintain balance. Breathe deeply. Hold in this position for 10 breaths, remembering to exhale deeply and completely.
