Upward-facing dog – Urdhva Mukha Svanasana
Just like a downward facing dog, this asana is usually performed several times during a yoga session.
This asana makes the spine flexible, improves posture, strengthens the back and legs.
- Start by lying on your stomach, stretch your toes, place your palms under your shoulders.
- Press your arms to your torso and straighten, lifting the body up with a bend in the back.
- Lower your shoulders away from your ears, pull your shoulder blades backward, opening your chest. Stretch your head up and your toes at the same time, stretching your entire body.
- Stay in this position for a few breaths, then return to the starting position.
