Literally the name of this asana can be translated as “unhurried stretching of the spine.”

  • Get into a mountain pose, pull up your knees. 
  • As you exhale, slowly lean forward, touching your toes with your hands.
  • Do not bend your knees.
  • If the stretch allows, place your palms on the floor on either side of your feet.
  • Ideally, you should completely hang your upper body and rest your head on your knees, relaxing in this position.
  • Stay in this position for 3-4 deep breaths.
